about to fall down, the simple updo, where the hair is simply twisted and pinned in place, and then there is the fancy updo, where the hair is intricately placed, braided, twisted and more.
Depending on the type of updo you are looking for, you may want to schedule an appointment with your hair stylist to get a trial run. The fancy updos can take some time to create and you want to make sure you get it right. The last thing you need to be worrying about at the Prom is whether you hair is going to stay up or not.
See example, left, of a rather simple updo. The hair is parted on the
side and all the hair is gathered in a high ponytail and then twisted into a
chignon and pinned into place. This style looks very fashionable and it
can be accentuated with fancy earrings and perhaps a small decorative hair
pin. See the Hair Products page for some great hair pins, barrettes that
you can use for Prom.
The
stylish updo, see
right, features a little bit of back-combing in the crown
area to create some height. The hair is pulled back loosely and twisted
into a loose chignon.
Some layers are left loose and will probably need to be sprayed or pinned
somehow to keep them from annoying you by flying in your face.
The model is wearing a flattering shade of eye shadow, eyeliner and has made the style even more glamorous by adding long, sparkly earrings.
