 Updo Hair Styles

There are so many different variations of updo hair styles. You can wear your hair in just a simple updo, french twist, messy updo even a ponytail updo.

The updo hair style shown below will work great for your prom hair style.  To create this style on your own, apply a straightening cream throughout the hair and blow dry using a large round brush.

Create the extra smooth look by flat ironing all of the hair from roots to ends.  Flat ironing may be necessary if you have frizzy hair.

Next, pull all of your hair back into a high ponytail.  To create the various bends and twists shown in the hair style below, simple take small sections of hair and twist them, pinning into place.

An even easier way to create this style is to pull all of your hair back and twist into a chignon and pin into place.  Next, pin a hair piece that is already styled like the hair style below and simply pin it into the chignon.  Talk about a 5 minute hair style!

You can dress up this updo by adding colored or jeweled hair bands.

Jennifer Aniston has the right type of updo hair style for a prom look.  This is a simple side chignon with a deep side part and just a hint of side swept bangs.

This is a hair style that you can very easily create on your own.  It may take several practice runs to get the hair exactly how you want it--and to get it to stay put.  Experiment with hair pins, clips and hair spray to keep loose strands in place.
