The ponytail updo hair style starting becoming a fashion style at many celebrity events.  No longer is the ponytail resigned to only the gym, it can now be worn for formal events.  The secret to getting a ponytail hair style to look good is keeping the hair shiny and healthy looking.

 

If you plan to have a straight and smooth ponytail, you will first want to blow dry the hair and flat iron it from roots to the ends.  Apply a shine serum or hair product with silicone to get that extra shiny look.

For the curly ponytail, you will need to add the curls all over with a curling iron or hot rollers.  Always allow the hair to cool completely before trying to shape or position the curls.

Paris is wearing a side ponytail with loose waves on the ends.  The top of the hair is kept smooth and she also has a few side-swept bangs.  This type of hair style will look great with matching earrings and necklaces!
